Still Important to Save Drinking Water
According to the Geological Survey of Sweden (SGU), a longer period of persistent rain is required in order that groundwater levels can start to recover. The rain that has fallen so far has in the first instance been absorbed by plants.
The Swedish National Food Administration is therefore encouraging people to use drinking water sparingly, and many municipalities have introduced hosepipe bans. Take a look at the municipality's website to check the situation where you are located.
