Can I take my pet to a shelter?
No, you may not bring animals into shelters since others may be allergic. You shouldn't stay in shelters for more than a few days, so if you have food and water at home, your animal can fend for itself until you get back.
If it becomes necessary to go to a shelter, you should evacuate your pets in advance if possible. Do you know someone who lives in a safer area who can care for your animals?
