Advice for blind and partially sighted people
Here you will find tips on how to prepare for a crisis if you are blind or have low vision.

- Talk to family, friends or carers about what help you might need.
- Use voice control on your phone. It will make it easier to use.
- Label your things in Braille or large print.
- Make a list of important things you need.
- Save the list on a memory stick or as an audio file.
- Keep a spare phone or computer in your emergency kit.
- Have extra reflective vests labelled ‘visually impaired’ and ‘companion’.
- Keep aids such as Daisy players close by, pocket memories and magnifying glasses.
- You can bring your guide dog to shelters.
- Make sure that people close to you know that you may need help if something happens.
