The agreement between the European Commission and the Swedish-British pharmaceutical company Astra Zeneca involves a total of 300 million doses of vaccine. The purchase hinges on approval of the vaccine.
According to the agreement, each country shall have access to a number of doses based on its population. For Sweden, this means about six million doses. The countries will all get access to the doses at the same time.
The Public Health Authority must decide which population groups should be offered the vaccination in the first stage. The Authority will present its national vaccination plan on 31 August.
