The new assessment is based on an analysis of the global spread of the virus and uses a 1-5 scale, with the levels very low, low, moderate, high and very high.
The risk of discovering coronavirus cases in Sweden is very high, but the risk of general spread of infection in the country is assessed to be moderate.
The new assessment is mainly being made in light of the discovery by a number of countries in Europe of cases that have been infected in Northern Italy and Iran in the last week.
The risk assessment is made on the basis of the current global situation. It is not a forecast for the future, but rather an assessment of the current state of affairs.
