Return to former rules for medical certificates
The Swedish Social Insurance Agency announces that as of 1 November 2020, the former rules for medical certificates regarding sickness benefits and care of children will apply. A medical certificate will be needed for child care from day 8, and from day 15 for sickness benefit.

If the first day of illness occurs before 1 November, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency will require a medical certificate to cover days 15 to 21. If the first day of illness is 1 November or later, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency will require a medical certificate from day 15.
For the care of children, a medical certificate will be required from 1 November if the child's period of illness is 8 days or longer.
