Important public announcement for Skelleftehamn and Örviken in Skellefteå Municipality, Västerbotten County. There is a fire in an industrial area causing thick smoke. The incident commander urges everyone in the area to go indoors and close doors and windows, and shut off ventilation. For more information listen to Sveriges Radio P4 Västerbotten.

Orange warning for high water discharge in the river Luleälven

An orange level weather warning has been issued for high water discharge in Norrbotten county.

Update August 25 at 11:40 am: The orange level weather warnings for high water discharge have been downgraded to yellow level warnings. The water discharge have decreased but are still high. The warnings apply until further notice.

Original message August 22: High water discharge affects the upper part of river Lilla Luleälven/Blackälven between lake Tjaktjajaure and Jokkmokk and the lower part of river Luleälven downstream Vuollerim.  

There can be very fast flowing water in rivers and smaller watercourses. River flows are uncertain due to water control.
