Weather warning for strong winds
SMHI, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, has issued an orange weather warning for wind that affects parts of Jämtland, Härjedalen, Hälsingland and Medelpad.

A low pressure passes and gives strong winds with very strong gusts during the night until Monday in southern Jämtland east of the mountains, Härjedalen east of the mountains, northwestern Hälsingland and western Medelpad, according to SMHI. Wind gusts of 22-27 meter per second are expected. There may also be some snow.
The warning applies from January 16 at 21.00 – January 17 at 01:00.
The weather warning means there is risk of:
- Road blockages due to fallen trees.
- Delays in bus-, train-, air- and ferry traffic as well as cancelled departures.
- Power outages in areas with overground power lines, which also affects mobile networks for telecommunications.
- Damage to buildings and risk of smaller objects becoming projectiles.
- Extensive forest damage.
SMHI has previously issued an orange warning for wind and snowfall that affects the mountain regions of southern Jämtland and Dalarna. There are also several yellow warnings issued for other parts of Sweden.
