🔶 SMHI has issued an orange warning for wind and snowfall on the bare mountains of northern Dalafjällen, Härjedalsfjällen and southern Jämtlandsfjällen. SMHI strongly advises people not to go hiking in the mountains, as rescue operations can be risky and take a long time.

The orange warning applies on 23 January at 06.00-14.00.
It will be windy with north-westerly winds from Tuesday morning, on the bare mountain very strong winds 18-23 m/s, in exposed places up to storm 25 m/s. Snowfall is also expected. The wind decreases during Tuesday afternoon, SMHI writes.
The warning means that people are strongly advised not to go hiking in the mountains. Rescue operations can be risky and take a long time. It can be very difficult to walk around or set up tents. It may also be difficult to orientate due to severely reduced visibility. High risk of frostbite.
