Earthquake in South East Asia

Two strong earthquakes has occurred in Myanmar and has also had a major impact in Thailand. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges Swedes who are in the area to contact their relatives, keep up to date with developments in the media and follow the advice and instructions of local authorities.

Drinking water

Tap water in Sweden is safe to drink but in case of a suspected contamination, there may be a recommendation to boil the water. These will be in Swedish.

Grass and forest fires

Grass fires can spread very quickly and be difficult to extinguish. In spring, there is an increased risk of fire in last year's old, dry grass. The risk of fire is particularly high in the afternoon when the grass is dry.
